Position 1: Health Safety and Environment Officer (HSE).
Job Description:
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer uses specialist technical skills and knowledge to help our clients in the industry create highly effective solutions that minimize risk, reduce operating costs and assure a safe and healthy work environment.
Scope:
The HSE Officer reports to the Head and provides technical support in carrying out consultancy related tasks as required by GEHS clients to include: HSE compliance audits, safety risk assessments, formulation of policies, accident investigations, capacity building, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a HSE Officer, you will undertake Client specific HSE services to include, but not limited to:
Set good example for safety in client’s site.
Generation of new businesses and maintenance of existing accounts;
Carrying out risk assessments/compliance audits for clients.
Providing recommendations for corrective action to remedy non-compliances.
Undertaking incident investigation where required.
Production and Maintenance of client specific HSE policy, plans, work instructions and procedures for a wide range of hazards
Developing proactive risk management strategies for clients to minimize their health and safety risk exposure.
Developing HSE Management systems for clients.
Ensuring that clients are kept up to date with Health, Safety and Environment issues.
Promoting good HSE practice at clients’ sites.
Prepare and present management reports to the clients as required using approved style and content templates in approved timescales.
Assists to organize and participate in HSE training courses in accordance with the fixed program approved by Head.
Assists in administering HSE programs on client’s site.
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidate must have:
A BSc. Degree or higher in Engineering or an associated degree in Safety, Health and Environment or a closely related field from an accredited university. A detailed understanding of the Nigerian HSE and other international regulations is an added advantage. Valid HSE course such as NEBOSH diploma or equivalent will also be an advantage.
Minimum of 2 years experience preferably in the construction industry as a field.
Good oral and written communication skills
Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as required

Position 2: Environmental Scientist
Job Description:
The Environmental Scientist measures and records features of the environment as well as study, assess and develop methods of controlling or minimizing the harmful effects of human activity on the environment.
Scope:
The Environmental Scientist reports to the Head and provides technical supports in the delivery of environmental services of the organization. S/He will carry out the full range of investigative, educational and advisory duties associated with all facets of the environment. Areas of work include Environmental Audit, Impact Assessments, Waste Management, Capacity Building and Report Writing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Scientist, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Coordinate all environmental services of the organization.
Collect environmental data during field activities.
Analyze and interpret environmental data to determine quality and scientific significance.
Conduct Environmental Audits.
Prepare Reports on Environmental Studies.
Develop review environmental policies, regulations and guidelines to meet appropriate requirement.
Generate new businesses and maintenance of existing clients’ base.
Develop proposals on solutions and services on environment related challenges.
Assist in the implementation of the training programs run by the organization. Specifically plan, develop, promote and coordinate the Environmental Management Courses.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidate must have:
Candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or any Environmental related field. Additional qualification will be an advantage.
Candidate should have at least 2 years working experience.
Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Good scientific, technical understanding and sound numeracy;
Vast knowledge in Environmental Management tools including Assessments;
Spatial Analysis using Arc GIS;
Methodical, careful approach to gathering facts and assessing evidence;
Assertiveness and Decision Making skills;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
Creative thinking and problem solving;
Ability to work well and continue to deliver results under pressure;
Ability to work under own initiative without need for direct day to day management;
